Apple Purée

Apple purée can be used as an alternative to fats and eggs in your baking. For example, one of my favourites is in my crumbles instead of using fats like plant-based butter or coconut oil.

Ingredients

  • Apples
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of water

Method

  1. Slices your apples and decore, slice into 8, add in your cinnamon and mix.
  2. Add the apples into a pan with the water, cover, pop onto the stove on medium heat for around 20 minutes or until soft.
  3. Using an immersion blender, blend.
  4. Once cooled transfer into a jar and store in the fridge for up to 5 days, alternatively you can place into the freezer. I portion mine by using an ice cube tray.

Notes

** You can use any apples. I would advise not using than Bramley Apples, your cooking apples as they can be a bit sharp in flavour.
